Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW)
Protecting people and assets economically, effectively and efficiently proposes specific challenges when assessing and addressing the risks of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO), Explosive Remnants of War (ERW), landmine, explosives and Chemical Warfare Agents (CWA).
Deep expertise in risk mitigation
The explosives engineering team at RPS use their deep expertise to provide informed advice and deliver the most appropriate and cost-effective service to manage the threats associated with ordnance contamination, on- and offshore. We are pragmatic in our approach to mitigating UXO, ERW and other risks, delivering project specific solutions to meet our clients’ needs.
In addition to land-based sites, we understand how to assess and address UXO concerns within the maritime environment. Here, a far wider and potentially far more dangerous range of UXO can be encountered. Additional challenges are created by the unpredictable environmental impacts, such as weather and tides. Our team draws on the vast scientific knowledge of RPS in meteorological and marine modelling to build a comprehensive picture to identify, understand and mitigate the risk UXO may pose to planned maritime work sites.
RPS operates an ISO 9001:2015 accredited Quality Management System to provide explosives safety management services. We are also accredited with S7 Registration in Germany and TUV in Netherlands. All key personnel are members of the Institute of Explosives Engineers.
