Supporting our local communities

Thirteen of the ladies from UK Head Office completed the Cancer Research Race for Life in Newbury on Sunday 1st July 2018. Some running, some walking: with 1st across the line for RPS being Michelle Lewis, 2nd place Heidi Swatton and 3rd place Nehal Patel.

Team member Sarah Teixeira from our UK finance team, let us know how the day went:

"We all had varying levels of fitness, with several going into training but we were all so proud to say we all completed it even in the searing heat! It was on the Newbury Racecourse itself so the ground was rough (beaten up by the horses’ hooves) not to mention the grass was long making progress in places slow. We all pushed each other along to make sure we all finished! 

We did this for our colleague Joyce Harris who is bravely fighting cancer at the moment. Joyce was overwhelmed by all the support shown by colleagues, friends and family, and with the bake sale the final total raised for Cancer Research was £5,320. Included in this total was £374 raised by her husband’s work place: FIS, who also had a cake bake. 

A massive effort from all but well worth it for such a great cause that is currently very close to our hearts."
