RPS Floating LiDAR buoys to support Netherlands wind energy and metocean measurement project
RPS will support the Dutch offshore wind industry by measuring wind energy potential and metocean conditions, deploying Floating LiDAR buoys at IJmuiden Ver.
RPS has been selected to support a new project to measure wind energy potential and metocean conditions for The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) at IJmuiden Ver.
The team will deploy four LiDAR buoys for the two-year measurement programme, collecting and reporting on crucial wind, wave, current and tidal data. The IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Zone covers approximately 400 km2.
RPS’ Dutch base for the deployment will be its facility in the new “Blue Port Centre” in Den Helder – a site being redeveloped to support renewable energy transition in the Netherlands.
The project win demonstrates the strength of RPS’ integrated approach, with our global Energy division working closely with, and benefitting from the strong support of, RPS’ local Netherlands team.

Drijvende LiDAR-boeien van RPS ondersteunen Nederlands project voor windenergie en metocean-metingen
RPS is geselecteerd om een nieuw project te ondersteunen om het potentieel voor windenergie en metocean-omstandigheden te meten voor de Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) in IJmuiden Ver.
Het team zal vier LiDAR-boeien uitzetten voor het meetprogramma, dat twee jaar zal duren. De boeien verzamelen en rapporteren essentiële gegevens over wind, golven, stromingen en getijden. Het windenergiegebied IJmuiden Ver zal ongeveer 400 km2 bestrijken.
De Nederlandse thuisbasis van RPS voor dit project wordt het nieuwe 'Blue Port Centre' in Den Helder - een locatie die wordt omgebouwd om de Nederlandse energietransitie te ondersteunen.
Het winnen van het project toont ook de kracht van de geïntegreerde aanpak van RPS. Waarbij onze wereldwijd opererende Energy divisie nauw samenwerkt met de teams van RPS in Nederland.
