Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill Office Fitout
RPS partnered with the Legacy Club of South Australia and Broken Hill to manage the relocation and fitout of their new office within the heritage-listed Torrens Parade Ground in Adelaide. Delivered between April 2022 and February 2023, the $700,000 project provided modern facilities to support Legacy’s vital work with Defence Force veteran families, while preserving the historic character of the site.
The challenge
Legacy needed to relocate to a new tenancy within Torrens Parade Ground on a fixed timeline and with a constrained budget. The project required navigating the complexities of a heritage-listed building, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering a fit-for-purpose space that could meet the organisation’s operational needs. Achieving this within scope, time, and budget was critical to ensuring Legacy could continue its services without disruption.
Our approach
As lead consultant and project manager, RPS oversaw every stage of the project, from planning through to delivery. Our services included:
-
Developing the user requirements brief
-
Leading heritage consultation with stakeholders
-
Procuring and managing the design team
-
Procuring and managing the construction contractor
-
Risk, program, and budget management
-
Providing Superintendency and contract administration
Through careful value management and negotiated procurement, we ensured maximum benefit was achieved within the available budget. Our team worked closely with Legacy and stakeholders to maintain project momentum, mitigate risks, and keep delivery aligned with critical timelines.
The result
The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget, providing Legacy with a modern, functional office environment that respects the heritage significance of Torrens Parade Ground. The fitout included enclosed offices, meeting rooms, reception, and support spaces designed to enhance the organisation’s ability to serve Defence Force veteran families.
