Consulting services for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport - South Australia
Since 2018, RPS has partnered with South Australia’s Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to deliver project and program management services across a broad portfolio of state government capital works.
Beginning with the Department for Education Capital Works Program, which included refurbishing and redeveloping learning facilities in 91 schools across the state, our role has expanded to support SA Health, South Australia Police (SAPOL), and other agencies with the delivery of new facilities, major refurbishments, and critical infrastructure projects.
The challenge
As the delivery agency for major and medium capital works across South Australia, DIT is responsible for projects spanning education, health, policing, and more. This broad remit brings complexity, from varying technical design requirements to diverse stakeholder groups, constrained budgets, and challenging delivery timelines.
In addition to project delivery, DIT has sought to enhance its internal project management capability, requiring expert guidance to strengthen systems and governance within its project management processes.
Our approach
RPS provides specialist consultancy services to DIT through long- and short-term appointments, tailoring expertise to meet specific project needs. Our services include:
-
Cost, time, and quality control
-
Navigating government processes and approvals
-
Contract administration and superintendency
-
Procurement management
Our consultants draw on RPS’s ISO9001-accredited quality management system while seamlessly integrating with DIT’s systems and processes. Leveraging the depth of RPS’s organisational expertise, we provide innovative, practical solutions while also helping to build internal capability within DIT’s teams.
The result
RPS’s long-term collaboration with DIT has helped deliver a diverse program of works across South Australia, providing modern facilities that meet the needs of communities and government services. Beyond project delivery, our role in supporting the development of DIT’s PMO has contributed to improved processes and greater organisational capacity, strengthening the Department’s ability to deliver essential infrastructure into the future.
