Assessing the effectiveness of disinfection

Good hygiene is more important than ever. And while various disinfection activities are taking place in and around our offices, our workspaces, our vehicles and shopping trolleys – is this enough to minimise the risk to human health? 

A quick and practical way to determine the level of cleanliness, in terms of being virus free, is in practice, quite difficult to implement. At RPS, we use microbiological markers to assess the effectiveness of disinfection activities, and we’ve developed and tested our own method to achieve the best results.

Disinfection aimed at killing viruses is aimed at reducing microbiological contamination. Our approach maps out microbiological contamination before and after disinfection. Following the measurement protocol we tailor the number of samples collected to your situation and on the disinfected objects and/or spaces. And because some disinfectants can cause health risks in humans, we also carry out additional measurements of their residual concentrations.
