With a strong base in niche areas and a proficiency in large-scale projects, Rhiann Rogers utilises her skills and experience to achieve extraordinary results for challenging projects. Here, she explains how she deals with managing a variety of work while exceeding targets at every stage.
What do you do at RPS?
As a Project Manager at RPS, I oversee the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of a range of projects. Day-to-day, that means working closely with clients, engineers, field teams, and administrators to ensure everything runs smoothly. I manage Trunk Main Leakage, lead Per capita consumption teams and administrators for private leakage for our client, DCWW (Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water), making sure we’re efficient, responsive, and delivering value at every stage.
How did you gain and build your expertise over the years?
I’ve built my expertise through a mix of hands-on field experience and progressive project roles, whilst also learning from some brilliant people along the way. I began in project support roles, which gave me a strong grounding in process and operations, then moved into managing more complex projects across water and utilities. Over the years, I’ve deepened my knowledge in stakeholder coordination, risk mitigation, and delivering under pressure.
How did you end up joining RPS? And why?
I joined RPS because of its strong reputation in the industry and the opportunity to work on meaningful, large-scale water projects. The company’s values really aligned with mine, particularly its commitment to teamwork, accountability, and delivering sustainable, client-focused outcomes.
What does your team do? What kind of projects do you work on? Any standout achievements?
Our team is involved in a wide range of projects, particularly in managing trunk main leakage and coordinating private leakage and per capita consumption initiatives. We’re focused on reducing water loss and improving network performance.
One standout achievement has been successfully reducing TML overall leakage by 38.79% and coordinating works on high-impact leakage projects, under time-critical conditions, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and excellent service delivery.
How are we providing value to our clients? How do we ensure a high-quality result?
We add value by understanding the bigger picture and balancing technical accuracy with commercial and environmental considerations.
For leakage projects, especially, timely response and data integrity are critical. We ensure high quality through clear processes, proactive issue management, and consistently good communication with all parties involved.
How does your role contribute to achieving great results for clients?
My role is all about ensuring delivery on time, on budget. Whether that’s coordinating field teams, resolving blockers quickly, or aligning stakeholder expectations, I help make sure the project stays commercially viable while still achieving high-quality results.
What critical things have you learned during your career?
The importance of adaptability and communication. Projects rarely go exactly to plan, so being able to adjust course, keep the team aligned, and manage client expectations is crucial. I’ve also learned the power of building trust—strong working relationships often make the difference between a good project and a great one.
What makes this work so special for you? What’s your favourite part?
The substantial impact. Knowing that the work we do, especially around leakage and water conservation, has a direct benefit for communities and the environment is incredibly rewarding. My favourite part is seeing all the moving parts of a project come together thanks to good teamwork and shared purpose.
Why should someone work with RPS?
Because you’ll be working with a team that genuinely cares about outcomes. RPS combines technical expertise with real collaboration and integrity. Whether you’re a client or a colleague, you’ll be supported, listened to, and part of something that makes a difference.
Between You and Me – Fun Q&A
What does your ideal Sunday look like?
A relaxed start with good coffee, followed by a long walk or time outdoors. Then maybe a bit of cooking, a catch-up with family or friends, and a good film or music in the evening.
What’s your proudest accomplishment? Personal or professional.
Personally, my proudest accomplishment is being mum to my amazing son Caleb, who’s now 14. He’s loving, wickedly funny, and full of heart, and I’m so incredibly proud to be his mam. Watching him grow into the person he’s becoming is the most rewarding journey of all.
Favourite song/album
“Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac from their Rumours album. Classic, timeless, and always a mood-lifter.
