RPS, A Tetra Tech Company announces role as Civil & Structural Advisors for the second bundle of the Higher Education PPP Programme

RPS, A Tetra Tech Company is proud to announce our role as Civil and Structural Technical Advisors to the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) for the delivery of the second bundle of the Higher Education PPP Programme.

This bundle will deliver five significant capital projects across three universities, in Carlow, Donegal, Galway, Limerick and Waterford, namely South East Technological University (SETU), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and Atlantic Technological University (ATU). The projects range in size from c.5,100 sq/m to c.12,800 sq/m and encompass various disciplines including engineering, applied science, information technology, STEM learning and library services. 

Two projects are planned for SETU, a c.6,100 sq/m Science and Health facility at SETU Carlow and a c.12,800 sq/m Engineering, Architecture, Computing and General Teaching building at SETU Waterford.

A c.5,200 sq/m Applied Science & IT building will be delivered for TUS at their Moylish Campus in Limerick. 
Two projects are also planned for ATU. A c.5,100 sq/m Library, IT and Educational Building at ATU Letterkenny and a c. 5,500 sq/m STEM facility at ATU Galway.

As Civil and Structural Technical Advisors for the second bundle of the programme, we are delivering a full suite of multidisciplinary engineering services supporting the successful delivery of these education facilities.

Speaking at the sod-turning event in Waterford Minister James Lawless said: “With construction now commencing on five new buildings across five campuses, this €380 million programme will significantly expand student capacity, modernise teaching spaces, and bring state-of-the-art labs, studios, and workshops to regions across the country. It is a vital investment in our economy, supporting scientific education in regional areas.”
