Practice lead Kerri-Ann Hudson on leading an Army Reserve Health Company
RPS is proud to support veterans and Army reservists across our business, strengthening our culture, deepening our understanding of Defence environments, and bringing valuable capability to clients. With more than 50 veterans working across RPS, and having been recognised by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs as a Veteran Employer of Choice, we’re committed to creating an environment where those with Defence experience can thrive.
One of those team members is RPS Practice Lead, Kerri-Ann Hudson, who also serves as a proud Australian Army Reservist.
Leading health capability for the Australian Army
Kerri-Ann currently serves as Officer Commanding Delta Company, 2nd Health Battalion, a unit responsible for generating specialised health capabilities in support of the Australian Army’s land combat operations. The battalion’s mission is to ready and deploy general, close and integral health effects to enable the Integrated Force on operations and exercises.
Delta Company is a large and geographically dispersed organisation with personnel across NSW and the ACT. The company operates from four primary locations: Newcastle, Randwick, Holsworthy and Canberra.
As Officer Commanding, Kerri-Ann is responsible for leading and managing a diverse team, overseeing readiness, welfare, training and support to Army activities. The workforce includes a wide range of specialist medical, clinical and support trades, spanning surgeons and physicians, nursing officers, combat paramedics and allied health professionals.
Bringing Defence leadership into everyday delivery
Kerri-Ann sees a direct connection between her Reserve responsibilities and the strengths she brings to RPS, particularly when it comes to leadership, decision-making, organisational capability and people development.
Speaking about her service, Kerri Ann said:
“I truly value RPS’s support for my service, and I also see daily how the leadership, decision making, organisational capability and people development required in my Army Reserve role directly enhance the strengths I bring to RPS.”
