Kevin is a project manager and marine ecologist with more than 14 years’ experience as a marine consultant, providing consenting support and advice to a range of sectors and industries, notably in offshore renewables, but also oil and gas, interconnectors, aggregates and ports and harbour. Kevin has a strong technical background, with a PhD in marine ecology and specialist knowledge on the effects of marine activities on benthic and fish ecology built up over his consultancy career. Kevin is a skilled EIA practitioner in support of Development Consent Order and marine licence applications. Kevin also has considerable expertise in Habitat Regulation Assessment, providing strategic advice and support to a number of offshore wind farms in the UK and Ireland.
Over his career, Kevin has worked alongside clients from a wide range of industries and has also established excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders including consenting authorities across the UK (including devolved administrations) and Statutory Nature Conservation Bodies during all stages of consenting and post-consent. This has included developing appropriate management and mitigation measures to minimise effects of marine activities and industries on the environment.
