Digital solution for NSW Communities and Justice capital works program

RPS developed an interactive digital platform to track progress across multiple projects for NSW’s Department of Communities and Justice.

A major undertaking

As part of a range of upgrades and improvements, the NSW Department of Communities and Justice undertook more than 20 capital works projects.

With multiple projects to manage, the Department needed a way to quickly and easily track progress to ensure budgets, timelines and key milestones were being met.

RPS’ data and analytics team was engaged to build an interactive system to collect data from all the projects.

Interactive platform

The team worked with the Department to define appropriate metrics and identify key data collection categories for the system including progress indicators, budgets, timelines, deliverables, risks, resourcing, issues and actions.

With this information, RPS developed a web-based platform to sit within the government’s existing operating system.

The centralised, user-friendly platform could then be used by project managers and program coordinators to record and track progress across all of the Department’s capital works projects.
