The time scales were tight so we utilised out laser scanning expertise to carry out 90% of the survey work. The topographical data was also traced from the scan. King street and the surrounding roads to the building were extremely busy so some additional techniques to remove non-permanent objects captured during the scanning process were used to help with data capture. Â
Using the latest scanning techniques we could clean the point cloud data as it was being captured using a double scan technique, thus removing and pedestrians and vehicles that were passing the scanner at the time of capturing the data. This proved invaluable once drawing from the data set, and shows how we can utilise new techniques to improve our survey work further.
