Master-planned community
Sienna Wood is in Perth’s growth corridor in the south east suburbs of Hilbert and Haynes – around 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The residential estate is a joint venture between Stockland and DevelopmentWA as part of the State Affordable Housing Strategy and aims to deliver an affordable and balanced master-planned community.
RPS has been involved with the project since 2018 and is providing ongoing support as the residential estate continues to develop.
Once completed, Sienna Wood will be home to almost 12,000 residents.
Environmental approvals
RPS worked with Stockland on the management plan approvals process for the Hilbert Road Conservation Category Wetland, a key environmental feature of the project and associated Resource Enhancement Wetlands.
Our consultants are also working on the Wungong Brook foreshore landscape and rehabilitation implementation plan with Stockland and the City of Armadale. The plan aims to restore the environmental features of the Wungong Brook (lost due to past land uses) through extensive weed control and replanting with native species.
Urban water management and groundwater assessments
RPS has provided several water management services at Sienna Wood, including:
- The preparation and approvals of various Better Urban Water Management reports, including Urban Water Management Plans
- Hydrological/hydraulic modelling to support the design of drainage basins and culvert sizing
- Management of all groundwater licences across the estate, including applications for well construction, groundwater abstraction and dewatering licences, and compliance reporting
- Groundwater and surface water monitoring across the estate, groundwater contour mapping, water quality and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) performance assessments
RPS is also the project consultant for Acid Sulfate Soil assessment and management across the development site.
