TagEnergy is a renewables and storage developer and is proposing to build a battery energy storage system (BESS) near an existing substation in Gympie, Queensland. The company engaged RPS to undertake a red flag assessment for the proposed BESS project.
The work involved a desktop planning and environmental assessment as well as a pre-development consultation with local authorities. RPS provided a report that identified matters of relevance and potential impacts on the proposed development, via a traffic light assessment. The red flag assessment also confirmed all reporting requirements for the battery project including application fees and timeframes.
