Bankstown North Public School Redevelopment
School Infrastructure NSW engaged our team to provide project management and contract administration services for the redevelopment of Bankstown North Public School in south-west Sydney.
The upgrade brought contemporary education facilities to a Kindergarten to Year 6 school that serves the Bankstown community. Delivered facilities included 24 new flexible learning spaces, new administration and staff areas, a new library with special program rooms, new sports and assembly courts, and increased open space with associated landscaping.
Our role covered planning, design, construction and handover, with a focus on delivering the work in line with School Infrastructure NSW development processes and guidelines while managing stakeholder inputs, approvals, time, cost and quality expectations.
The challenge
Education projects need to be delivered safely and carefully around the people who use the site every day. At Bankstown North Public School, the redevelopment required coordinated delivery within an operating school environment, with clear controls for access, safety, communication and disruption management.
The project also needed to integrate inputs from School Infrastructure NSW, the school community, design and construction teams, and other stakeholders while maintaining alignment with the required development process. Managing time, cost and quality outcomes was critical to achieving approvals, endorsements and successful handover.
As the works progressed, the project team also needed to manage staged transitions into new facilities while external works continued. This required practical planning around access, hoarding, traffic control, services, commissioning, civil works and landscaping.
Our approach
Our project managers provided end-to-end project management and contract administration across planning, design, construction and handover. This included coordinating the project team, managing program requirements, supporting approvals and endorsements, and helping maintain clear communication between stakeholders.
We worked within School Infrastructure NSW processes and guidelines to help keep the project aligned with required governance, reporting and delivery expectations. Our team focused on practical controls that supported decision-making and helped manage competing priorities across cost, time, quality and stakeholder requirements.
Clear stakeholder communication was central to the role. By helping manage information flow between School Infrastructure NSW, the school and delivery partners, our team supported a structured approach to staged delivery, safety management and handover planning.
The result
The Bankstown North Public School upgrade has been completed, providing new and improved learning, staff, library, sport, assembly and open space facilities for the school community.
The project delivered 24 new flexible learning spaces, new administration and staff areas, a new library with special program rooms, new sports and assembly courts, and increased open space with landscaping.
For School Infrastructure NSW, our project management and contract administration support helped maintain delivery discipline across a complex school redevelopment. For Bankstown North Public School, the completed upgrade supports a stronger learning environment for students, teachers and the broader local community.
