Melbourne Airport Rail
RPS is supporting Rail Projects Victoria by providing a range of services for the Melbourne Airport Rail project.
Challenge
Melbourne Airport Rail is a transformational public transport project that will deliver a rail connection to Melbourne Airport for the first time.
It will provide a viable, reliable and much-needed alternative to road travel, bringing an airport rail connection to Melbourne in line with other cities across Australia and around the world.
Rail Projects Victoria wanted to ensure that community members had a chance to give input during the initial planning and design phase and share what is valued by the community, and what improvement opportunities could be considered as part of the project.
Solution
RPS was appointed in 2018 to provide the communication and engagement services required for this project as part of the Aurecon, Jacobs and Mott MacDonald Joint Venture. Our team is working with Rail Projects Victoria to develop and deliver a comprehensive engagement program for the planning phase of the Melbourne Airport Rail project including:
- Development of strategies and frameworks
- Analysis of community feedback
- Preparing engagement reports and collateral
- Development of virtual engagement space
- Management of key social research projects regarding community sentiment and priorities
- Workshop facilitation.
RPS is also supporting a Major Development Plan and carrying out sustainability management for the project.
