RPS has assisted independent power producer RATCH Australia with approvals advice and technical services to support the development of the 42 MW Collinsville Solar Farm project.
With infrastructure and land laying idle following the decommissioning of Collinsvilleโs coal-fired power plant, our planning and environmental specialists have assisted RATCH Australia to capitalise on the opportunity to add new renewable generation capacity to North Queenslandโs energy network.
With actionable insights from RPS on everything from development applications to environmental impact and transmission network connections, RATCH was able to develop a 42.5MW solar array with 165,000 individual solar panels.
RPS prepared allย planning and environmental approvalsย for the 205-hectare site and provided surveying and spatial services to facilitate tenure arrangements and produce cadastral lease and easement plans.
Our planning, survey and environmental teams worked closely with RATCH so that design constraints were understood and resolved quickly, and RPS even contributed information that helped secure $9.5 million in funding under theย Australian Renewableย Energy Agency (ARENA)โs large scale solar roundย in 2016.
