A smooth transition to the future
April 2025 saw the launch of the next Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) cycle, creating an impact on all English and Welsh Water companies. Industry regulator Ofwat has established AMP periods to optimize the sector’s effectiveness and service levels.
With AMP8, water companies are confronted with crucial environmental and regulatory challenges, among which include attaining Net Zero by 2030, decreasing sewage overflows and continuing to minimise the effects of climate change.
The AMP8 investment program places a strong emphasis on adopting nature-based solutions as the preferred and sustainable approach to address contemporary challenges, particularly in alignment with the Government's Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan.
From leading the development of a strategic drainage Infrastructure Plan for the Greater Belfast area to developing dewatering strategies that support safe mining operations in remote northern Australia, RPS offers comprehensive and integrated solutions for water management, wastewater, groundwater, flooding, and drainage.
