Anthony Gaffney appointed as MD of Tetra Tech RPS Energy
Tetra Tech RPS Energy, our specialist offshore energy support business, provides technical and advisory services globally. We are delighted to announce Anthony Gaffney as its new Managing Director.
As of August 2025, Anthony has taken the reins from outgoing Managing Director Gavin Pattison, who has retired after three successful years growing the business. Anthony has held senior leadership and board level positions and is a highly experienced strategic and technical leader with more than 30 years’ experience in the energy and offshore industries.
Anthony joined Tetra Tech RPS Energy in 2021, growing metocean (meteorological and oceanographic) services in EAME. In this strategic leadership role, Anthony supported the establishment of market-leading expertise and technology, answering the needs of the expanding European offshore wind industry and the rapidly transforming energy sector. More recently, as Director – Subsurface and Marine, he has supported Marine Environmental services and led our Technical & Advisory group, which is focussed on oil and gas and subsurface projects.
Prior to joining us, Anthony held senior leadership roles at Fugro. This included seven years as a Managing Director, supporting growth both organically and through acquisitions in the marine sector. Highly experienced in international projects, Anthony’s career has included several overseas postings and managing offshore energy projects around the world. Anthony has a Master’s degree in subsea engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Physics. In addition to his wide project experience, he has supported sustainability initiatives including long term coastal monitoring, Seabed 2030 Decade of the Oceans and corporate commitments to be carbon neutral by the 2030s.
