Case study: project management for Wyn Carr House restoration

RPS is providing project management support for the restoration and expansion of historic Wyn Carr House in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Restored building to provide much-needed services for vulnerable women

Housing All Australians and Uniting WA are restoring and expanding Wyn Carr House to provide accommodation to some of Western Australia’s most vulnerable women.

More than 20 individuals and private companies, including RPS, have donated more than $1 million in goods and services to support the project. The restoration has also received financial support from the state government’s Department of Communities.

Built in 1923, the project honours the history of the property and Winifred (Wyn) Carr’s service to women in need. The restoration and expansion will provide medium-term accommodation for women aged 55 and over who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The accommodation, along with support services, will create a safe and dignified space for women to access the support they need to secure long-term, stable housing.

RPS project managers keep building initiative on track

A partner of Housing All Australians since 2022, RPS collaborates with the organisation and its partners to address homelessness and create affordable housing solutions. For Wyn Carr House, RPS is providing project management services pro bono.

Our consultants are managing the project’s design, approvals, and procurement, while overseeing the construction and delivery of the upgraded facility.

The work includes managing stakeholders, including the companies and individuals who are donating goods and services, and overseeing schedules, timelines, and budgets to ensure the project achieves key milestones and is delivered to the highest standards.

The project is due to be completed in 2024.
