
Technical & Advisory services: David Pickering joins as Principal Advisor - Geoscience
We are delighted to welcome David, a geologist with 20 years of international experience in subsurface project evaluations and management.
David Pickering has joined Tetra Tech RPS Energy, starting in May 2025. A geologist, project manager and senior leader with a background in both energy consultancy and large international energy firms, David’s experience stretches across the energy value chain. He also has a strong interest in low carbon energy solutions, particularly geothermal and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

The Technical & Advisory group within Tetra Tech RPS Energy are a highly experienced team, delivering significant projects in subsurface, reserve audits, equity redetermination and upstream assets, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). They are dedicated to advancing energy solutions and ensuring the responsible use of resources.
David was previously a Technical Advisor at Ramboll, working on European CO2 storage projects. Prior to this, he held a number of senior technical and managerial positions for large international energy firms, including Statoil (Equinor), RWE Dea and Tullow Oil, gaining extensive experience of onshore rift basins, particularly in East Africa. More recently, he has to mature low-carbon energy solutions and screen potential gas storage sites. He works with a wide range of stakeholders across the energy industry.
