RPS Shortlisted for Green Awards 2021

We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the prestigious Green Awards 2021 in the Professional Services Category. This annual event will take place on June 17^th, recognising leading green service providers and products in the Irish market.

We have embedded environmental protection and sustainability into our work processes and company behaviours; integrating a sustainable approach to our business operations, office environments and projects, including:

• Appointment of a Senior Consultant in 2019 to lead the business transition and embed sustainability into all our projects
• Established a Sustainability Business Plan setting out a roadmap of internal and external actions to deliver changes
• Established a Sustainability Team to share knowledge, sustainability measures on projects and build a network of champions across the business
• Implemented a Sustainability Training Programme for staff across the business
• Revisions to project implementation procedure embedding sustainability into our delivery process; key changes include mandatory team and client sustainability workshops on all projects with a few valued greater than €50k

Key to this transition has been our staff who have formed a sustainability team and green committee. These teams are here to support our in-house project teams and to promote sustainable practices in the workplace and in our daily lives. Events and campaigns for staff have been organised including ‘Transport Day’ which focused on how we can switch to more sustainable ways of travelling and included a bike safety and maintenance classes, an opportunity to road test electric bikes, information on the bike-to-work scheme and commuter tax-saver scheme.

Externally, our work extends to working on global community outreach programmes such as Water-Share Ireland, an alliance of Irish water sector stakeholders collaborating with international humanitarian response agency, GOAL. Members since 2019, we contribute funding and expertise to support this sustainable water programme to vulnerable communities.

We’re honoured to have been nominated for the Green Awards and look forward to the ceremony in June.
