RPS has engaged ZephAir Australia Aircraft Charters as its aviation partner for aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry.
The partnership will provide RPS with industry-leading pilots and performance aircraft to support spatial data capture projects throughout Australia.
ZephAir will provide a Piper Seneca plane that will be equipped with RPS’ new Riegl VQ-1560 II-S Dual Waveform LiDAR scanner – the most advanced scanning system in the Australian market.
Combining advanced aviation capabilities with our new LiDAR technology will give RPS the ability to capture 2.66 million measurements per second on the ground, and ultra-high point densities of up to 60 points per square metre.
“ZephAir Australia is a specialist aviation provider with state-of-the-art aircraft and a highly experienced crew,” said RPS’ Australian Mapping Manager, Ivan Salhus.
“With so much of the capture work that we do taking place in regional and remote areas, we’re excited to partner with someone who can support us even in the most challenging environments.
“ZephAir is a growing Australian business that can support our operations right across the country. Working with them will also allow us to add additional value in the regions we service by utilising their network of local maintenance providers,” Ivan said.
