Mark sadly passed away in August this year, leaving a massive gap, not only at RPS but across the water industry. He was an active member of the Future Water Association – where he attended and delivered many presentations at Future Water Association seminars and conferences.
“Mark was always looking ahead; he wanted the future ‘now’ as he believed that the water sector was important and vital to everything. He encouraged and supported the next generation and firmly believed that people were key to everything. Mark was enthusiastic and above all supportive, I will always remember him saying “c’mon buddy, we can be different, we can do more.”
Paul Horton, CEO, Future Water Association
Mark joined RPS in 1999. He worked for many years leading large scale leakage projects, and built a reputation for operational excellence, strong interpersonal skills and a pragmatic approach to getting the job done. As the RPS business grew, he quickly assumed management roles for several water network projects with different clients. Over time he took on a business development role which suited his strong networking and interpersonal skills. His passion and determination were a significant contribution to our growth. Mark was enormously proud to represent RPS and worked tirelessly to help us retain an important contract with Welsh Water - a relationship heading into its third decade.
“Mark was a unique spirit who enriched our lives and our business. He was obstinately optimistic, relentlessly enthusiastic, supportive, fun, popular, driven, pragmatic and a joy to work with. We will miss him enormously.”
Paul Aitken, CEO Services UK and Netherlands, RPS.
