Leakage Field Services Award: A relationship entering its third decade
05 October 2020 | 2 min read
To meet the toughest AMP7 challenges to date, Welsh Water has appointed RPS as their leakage field service specialists - to deliver their leakage strategy amidst the growing expectation of customers that leakage reduction is a top priority in Wales.
Embracing shared values and challenging industry norms, we aim to deliver outstanding solutions, by introducing digital applications, establishing best practise and creating innovative solutions.
RPS will build on an already mature relationship with Welsh Water. We understand its business objectives to 2025, and its longer-term vision to 2050. Climate and demographic change, to keeping pace with technology and increasing customer expectations are just a few of the challenges ahead.
RPS is a diverse business and will embrace all that this offers to benefit Welsh Water - to look at things differently, to be more efficient and more effective in the way we deliver our service.
Peter Roberts, Regional Manager Wales commented, “Welsh Water will benefit from the extensive knowledge and expertise RPS has gained over previous AMP cycles - with Welsh Water and other water companies throughout the UK. Our innovation HUB will drive technology and innovation to facilitate the change that is needed, to deliver on the unprecedented challenges it has been set.”
This contract has been awarded on an initial period of 5 years with an option to extend for a further 3 years at the discretion of Welsh Water. The contract will service the entire Welsh Water Region, employing around 140 people, principally field based.
At this time, RPS and Welsh Water would like to acknowledge Mark Smith’s contribution and service - he has been an integral member of this framework delivery team for many years. He sadly passed away recently - he will be sorely missed by his friends and colleagues.
