I-69 Corridor Schematic Design and Environmental Documentation

RPS prepared an alternatives analysis, schematic design, and an Environmental Assessment for the upgrade of US 59 to Interstate standards to be designated as IH-69 in Wharton County. 

The project limits are the Fort Bend County Line to the Jackson County Line. The project length is 38 miles. The project includes a public involvement program with a major outreach program to communicate with property owners and road users. The project involves designing continuous frontage roads for a controlled access freeway. The existing facility may have to be upgraded to meet current design criteria. There is a total of 18 grade separations. Major river crossings include the Colorado River and the San Bernard River.
