IH 610 (West Loop) Express Lanes

RPS' transportation engineering team completed the initial steps to add four miles of elevated express lanes on one of Houston’s most congested freeways, IH 610 (West Loop), between IH 10 West and IH 69 South (US 59). The intent is to have four new lanes, two in each direction, providing the capability to bypass the heavily traveled Galleria Area.

Transportation planning and design

RPS prepared the schematic design and an Environmental Assessment for the construction of elevated express lanes. The project includes direct connectors to the IH 10 Managed Lanes. The Express Lanes will be tolled.  Our scope included public involvement, schematic design, bridge design, environmental documents and design visualization using a model.
