The development consisted of an extension to an existing self-storage unit for Class B8 use including alterations to the car parking area with additional cycle parking.
The proposed extension included the construction of a four-storey building adjacent to the existing self-storage that needed to be expanded. For this purpose, part of the current site plan corresponding to a total 4,341m2 parking space and landscaping area had been used. We carried out Detail Design stage energy calculations for the development.
We prepared an Energy Strategy Report to Discharge Planning Condition 6 on completion of the development. This confirmed that the building would be constructed in line with the measures defined in the approved energy strategy report at Planning Stage, exceeding Doncaster Core Strategy 2011-2028 of 10% provision of the energy demand by on-site renewable technologies.
