Key details

Project name:

Pre-acquisition due diligence for glass manufacturer

Location:

UK

Services provided:

  • Real estate environmental due diligence
  • EHS data review
  • Waste management review
  • Liability assessment
  • Environmental compliance assessment

Challenge

RPS was required to provide a robust assessment of the site’s operational compliance from an environmental and health and safety perspective, while maintaining secrecy as the proposed acquisition of the company and its operational facilities was not public knowledge. The red flag reporting was required within an expediated timeframe so the client’s legal team had time to review the details and revise the purchase offer accordingly.

Solution

We assembled an expert team to undertake the client’s specific brief. This included: a review of the client data room including EHS files; reviewing infrastructure maintenance logs; reviewing proposed improvements at the site for energy savings purposes; and discussing sustainability proposals with the client’s consultant. This was combined with regulatory enquiries to obtain an ‘as clear as possible’ environmental/regulatory compliance overview of the property. Once received and interpreted by RPS, information was fed back to the client in a bespoke report.
