Creating an urban oasis

Shaping a movement towards lush and liveable landscapes for high-density residential in inner Brisbane, our landscape architects have supported long-term client ARIA Property Group to create a urban oasis in busy South Brisbane.

With rich layers of native and riverine trees, shrubs and groundcovers, our team’s design for Oxley +Stirling reflects the sub-tropical climate of Brisbane and pays homage to the nearby Brisbane river and popular Southbank Parklands.

Rooftop design excellence

Boasting more than 1,300 square metres, Oxley + Stirling’s world-class rooftop is designed with community co-occupation in mind. It allows residents to escape the city while maintaining an active lifestyle in limited space.

Recreation areas include a lap pool and lawns with additional zones devoted to peaceful retreat, relaxation and socialising. The design incorporates a reflection pond, theatre room, private dining room, sunken lounges and barbecues with intimate seating areas that accommodate multiple groups at once.

Our team’s planting scheme features species selected for their low water demands and tolerance of rooftop conditions including high winds and harsh summer sun. With native and endemic plants the heroes at Oxley + Stirling, this award-winning rooftop represents a new take on the Brisbane ‘backyard’—fresh, functional yet fun and familiar.
