myProjects: Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency

Challenge

With a large number of complex materiel acquisition, maintenance and disposal initiatives scheduled for the next decade, the NDMA requires a tool to support the effective management of resources, cost control, proper disposal of used materiel and life cycle management of goods and services.

Drawing on years of experience supporting the NDMA to train and certify project owners, managers and resources, independent review of capital-intensive projects, implementation of project governance and project management methodologies, Metier OEC has customised a myProjects solution to suit the unique needs, objectives and requirements of Norwegian Defence.

Solution

Originally designed and developed by Metier OEC and now used to benefit clients right across the RPS global network, myProjects is a cloud-based tool that helps project managers, directors, sponsors and stakeholders report and share project, program and portfolio information with ease.

Implementing myProjects has helped NDMA enforce control and predictability over a diverse project portfolio, with the agency’s own project methodology (PRINSIX) embedded to ensure all initiatives adhere to the agreed corporate governance model. myProjects allows the Ministry of Defence (project owner) and NDMA (project manager) to have access to the most relevant, up-to-date data for informed decision-making.
