Heritage and character place analysis - Mudgeeraba Village
RPS’ planning team has supported the City of Gold Coast in assessing and documenting the unique heritage and cultural values of Mudgeeraba Village.
Preserving historical value
Located at the foot of the Gold Coast hinterland, Mudgeeraba is a small nineteenth-century village, relatively untouched by tourism and filled with old world charm.
For our client, the City of Gold Coast, our planning team put together a comprehensive heritage and character place analysis providing greater understanding of the physical and cultural values of Mudgeeraba’s heritage and character.
By identifying the regional, strategic and landscape context of the village alongside the historical European and Indigenous influences, our team was able to determine how these affect the village and provide recommendations for the council’s City Plan overlay code.
