Juan Seguin Park Project

The Juan Seguin Park Project is one part of the Independence Parkway master plan and is a part of former County Commissioner Garcia’s Project Star Icons. The focus of this initiative was to establish positive identity for eastern Harris County. The park site is located at the south Lynchburg Ferry Landing.

As a subconsultant to the landscape architect, RPS prepared the site drawings, specifications and cost estimate. The civil site design included grading, drainage, a mitigation plan, a parking lot and sidewalk throughout the park. RPS designed the structural foundation design for the new deck location. In addition to the deck design, the structural improvements included a concrete retaining wall, a brick retaining wall, a brick planter wall, two entry sign walls, and other items.
