Energy assessments for the Atrium Building

The Atrium Building provides 153 new homes, over 10 floors, with a striking façade of glass and steel and it is one of a very small number of residential buildings worldwide that are enclosed within a glazed atrium. This is an innovative solution to the difficulties of building adjacent to a busy main road, as dwellings are protected from traffic noise, pollution and weather by the atrium.

RPS was appointed to carry out energy calculations for all residential units. A Code for Sustainable Homes assessment for all residential units was also successfully undertaken. In addition, we also produced an overheating analysis on the communal staircases and corridors. RPS guided and advised the design and construction team on the most effective and commercially focussed approaches to achieve compliance with their energy and sustainability requirements.
