Preparing a coal-fired power station for sale
RPS was retained by a European power generating company to help prepare their UK power station facility for sale.
The coal fired facility was constructed in the 1960s and closed in 2018. We provided baseline environmental information for use during the planned divestment process. The assets included the coal-fired power plant with associated facilities and a separately located ash slurry landfill site connected by pipeline.

Our client needed to understand the environmental condition of the site to aid the sale process. A range of technical specialisms were needed to give a clear picture of the sites condition and provide the necessary information to support the sales process.
Solution
Our multi-disciplinary experts have extensive power related experience. Our team produced detailed technical reports on a range of subjects in advance of the sales process to help the buyers understand the environmental condition of the site and to aid the efficient progression of the sales process.
As part of our service delivery, we designed a bespoke and secure Virtual Data Room (VDR) to hold all of the relevant environmental documentation and managed VDR access for prospective bidders during the sales process.
