Traffic Signal Timing Optimization Program (TSTOP)

RPS performed signal timing optimization and implementation of improved traffic signal timings at 225 traffic signals along 19 arterial corridors as part of the Mayor’s initiative to retime traffic signals in Houston. Also, signal timing optimization for 88 signals was completed in the southwest area of Houston along approximately 13 corridors.

The work was done in accordance with the City of Houston and Texas Department of Transportation’s standards and specifications. The project included signal and roadway field inventory and traffic data collection, and compliance with all ADA, federal, state and local criteria. As part of TSTOP, RPS developed the internet web page to convey information to the public.
