Blakey’s Crossing detail survey
RPS’ experienced team of surveyors have provided potholing and surveying services to facilitate road upgrades for the flood impacted Blakey’s Crossing in Townsville.
Road upgrades enhance community
Each year local businesses and commuters in Townsville are impacted by heavy rainfall and flooding that causes the section of Ingham Road that covers Blakey’s Crossing to be closed for up to six weeks and sometimes more.
To overcome this challenge, the Queensland Government committed $24 million towards road improvements, including flood proofing.
Supporting this project, our surveying team delivered both road detail surveying to determine the conditions of the road and potholing services.
With the Ingham Road upgrades complete, the community now has better access to Townsville's city centre and its northern outskirts.
