Behind the scenes help on Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) national program
RPS has provided project management support to the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) for the launch of its largest-ever health promotion program.
Background
FARE is a leading Australian not-for-profit organisation that develops evidence-informed policy, enables people-powered advocacy, and delivers health promotion programs designed to prevent alcohol harm in our communities.
FARE received funding from the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver a national program that provides clear information about the benefits of alcohol-free pregnancy and safe breastfeeding practices. The program includes a public awareness campaign (Every Moment Matters), resources and training for health professionals, support for women who are most at risk of having alcohol-exposed pregnancies, and health promotion activities with regional and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
RPS support for Every Moment Matters program
RPS project management solutions for FARE
While FARE had the subject-matter expertise, stakeholder relationships and health promotion experience to develop the program, it required support to establish the comprehensive project management schedules and systems needed to deliver what would become the largest awareness campaign about alcohol, pregnancy, and breastfeeding in Australia.
FARE engaged RPS’ project management team to establish the necessary governance, procurement, and project management systems to support the program.
Our consultants supported the development of FARE’s project management processes and established a framework that could not only be used for the program but replicated for future initiatives. This included creating schedules, templates, budgets, and procurement practises. The framework gave FARE the tools to track and manage key strategies and tasks throughout all project phases.
The team also provided training to FARE staff members in project management, including the use of Microsoft Project.
FARE acknowledges RPS team
“The implementation of the schedule was critical in supporting FARE to launch Every Moment Matters. RPS' schedule helped us to capture all tasks and the vast number of moving parts effectively. RPS' approach to implementing the schedule was well considered, and they offered training workshops and one-on-one support, which in turn also elevated the team's performance. I am pleased to see the positive impact that RPS has made on the Program and our team.”
