AMP7: Maximising the benefits of Pressure Management

On December 16, Ofwat published its final determinations setting out the regulatory requirements for Water Companies to be achieved by 2025. High on their priority list is the need to build asset resilience across the UKs water networks.

Having the right information, data and analytical insights will be crucial to helping make robust operational and maintenance decisions for AMP7.

So how can past and current maintenance data help to optimise existing capital investment to deliver tomorrows challenging targets?

The benefits of pressure management are well known in the industry – reduced leakage, reduced burst rates, calmer networks and reduced maintenance costs to name a few. However, with AMP7 on the horizon and the challenges set by Ofwat to reduce leakage, flooding and pollution, the full scope of these benefits will need to be realised and maintained.

A complete pressure management strategy will treat assets correctly and ensure the supply of water to customers isn’t compromised and protect the natural environment.
