Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) has been a staple consideration of buying, selling, and operating property for some time, and has more recently become an increasingly important aspect of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
In an era where sustainability, environmental regulation, and corporate social responsibility have gained significant prominence, the environmental health of a target company or asset can have far-reaching impacts on the overall success and risk profile of a transaction.
Properly assessing and mitigating environmental risks during the due diligence process ensures that both the buyer and seller are fully aware of any liabilities and can take appropriate actions to minimise these risks.
Join our experts as we look at the different types of EDD applications in property and M&A transactions, why they can be critical, and what market trends we have been seeing.
Watch as our experts discuss Environmental Due Diligence (EDD), covering:

Rob has over 25 years' of experience providing value-added environmental risk management services to financial and corporate buyers, and industrial clients, as well as to lawyers, lenders, and other industry parties.
With broad experience of complicated transactions, Rob appreciates the perspective of different parties to a deal. Rob specialises in transactional due diligence and the risk assessment of environmental liabilities, then helping to resolve and manage such issues after a transaction closes.
In his advisory role Rob understands the importance of customising the approach, based on the financial objectives of the parties to the particular transaction. He prioritises critical issues, reviews technical findings, and translates identified issues into their potential impact on business operations, considering their implications for cash flow and equity value.
