Asset Designed As Constructed (ADAC) implementation
Asset Designed As Constructed (ADAC) is a standardised method for recording, processing, transferring and storing ‘as built’ information for civil infrastructure.
Why ADAC?
Adopted broadly across local government and major utilities, ADAC supports asset owners and managers to record detailed, accurate and consistent information about asset characteristics including asset classification, sizes, materials, locations, levels and more.
By combining clear, easy-to-implement management processes with a standardised, system agnostic data format and classification framework, ADAC supports:
- Quick and easy import of data into planning, asset, and geospatial management systems, reducing reliance on time-consuming manual import tasks.
- Data assurance for as built information, meaning decisions about assets are based on facts, not assumption.
- A strategic approach to asset management based on quality information about key infrastructure characteristics in the real world. This provides a basis for strategic maintenance or renewal planning, and the assessment of risk.
- Seamless information transfer between platforms including GIS, BIM, Asset Management and Financial Management systems, removing common points of error and data duplication, and hundreds of hours of inefficient manual work by internal teams.
- A reliable basis of information for the development of Total Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), Strategic Asset Management Plans (SAMPs), Asset Management Frameworks, Asset Criticality Assessments and more.
RPS services for ADAC
RPS provides specialist services to support government agencies and utility providers to adopt and implement ADAC as their standard asset data management platform.
We also assist asset owners and developers to assess existing and new assets and create ADAC-compliant data for them, in line with the requirements of ADAC-enabled LGAs, utility providers, or asset managers.

Steps for ADAC adoption and implementation
Our team can help your organisation transform the way it receives, stores and manages asset information through a targeted ADAC deployment program.
Typically taking 2-3 months, we work with your in-house teams to assess data sources, quality and existing systems, before developing a transition program for business processes and data.
We then guide implementation and embedding of ADAC standard processes by in-house teams, and develop the resources you need to ensure external providers provide the ADAC-compliant data you need when registering new assets.
Where data gaps exist with existing assets, we can also provide ADAC-compliant asset information capture services through our team of Registered Surveyors, GIS specialists and geospatial product specialists, as a seamless, one-stop ADAC solution.
