RPS has secured two new contracts with Yorkshire Water - ensuring the continuation of a long and successful partnership. We are delighted to be delivering another eight years of high-quality work which will be provided by our skilled and experienced teams whilst driving value for the client.
The first of the two contracts sees Yorkshire Water and the RPS wastewater teams working together to undertake Urban Drainage Modelling, River Flow and Water Quality Modelling across their networks. Through the application of the latest integrated modelling software and our leading technological innovations, we will digitally replicate drainage assets and watercourses. By clearly understanding how these perform and interact under varying climatic conditions over time, we will support flood alleviation and environmental improvements.
The second contract awarded is for the provision of Clean Water Hydraulic Modelling & Monitoring services. We will build, field test and calibrate hydraulic models to deliver a network management tool to inform investment planning and ongoing operational decisions. This supports Yorkshire Water’s delivery of suitable water flow and pressure to its customers, assists with early identification of network issues, and helps manage their assets for optimum resilience and efficiency.
Through the delivery of the two contracts, we will achieve greater value leveraging existing data assets, and the development of efficient automation tools and procedures. We are building and maintaining a high-quality model library that will be used for multiple strategic and operational solution developments, including optimised asset management.
Commenting on the significance of these project wins, Steve Hogg, Wastewater Consultancy Managing Director said, “Building on our deep expertise, a culture of innovation and intelligent risk taking, RPS will support Yorkshire Water to develop novel approaches to the complex challenges brought on by climate change and urbanisation.
RPS has worked with Yorkshire Water as a key wastewater modelling supplier since 2010, and with cleanwater services, including leakage detection, PRV maintenance and CCTV surveying for over 20 years. We are delighted to continue our successful relationship in AMP7.“
