The Crown Estate (TCE) recently (Thursday 15th October) hosted a stakeholder engagement event to provide an update on its work to date to design a potential new offshore wind leasing round. The event provided an overview of The Crown Estate’s work over recent months to consider the potential scale, location and nature of any new seabed rights in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
RPS is delighted to have supported TCE with advice on potential spatial constraints to development, drawing on its expertise in the consenting of offshore wind developments. RPS have also supported The Crown Estate by undertaking a peer review and validation of their draft spatial constraints analysis and a peer review of 18 draft regional characterisations documents produced by TCE to cover the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) around England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
RPS has experience and deep expertise in the consenting of offshore wind developments and the assessment of the potential environmental impacts of offshore wind farms. Our staff are well positioned to provide expert opinion on the level of constraint that economic, environmental and social factors can have on offshore wind development.
