Sedimentary Showcasing at Oceanology 2018

RPS exhibited at this year’s Oceanology International Conference in London showcasing our UKAS-accredited expertise in marine sediment analysis.

Oceanology International is the leading forum where industry, academia and government share knowledge and connect with the world’s marine science and ocean technology communities. The event, which took place between 13th and 15th March, welcomed over 500 of the world’s top manufacturers and suppliers of ocean technologies & components and global service providers and contractors such as iXblue, Teledyne Marine, Fugro, Sonardyne, Kongsberg Maritime, Forum, Saab and many more.

RPS’ exhibition stand was designed to promote our specialist laboratory services support, pre and post-operational surveys, dredging programmes, surveys for planning applications and marine monitoring.

RPS Operational Director Marco Lattughi and Business Development Manager Malk Sahota from our Letchworth Laboratory were on hand to advise the diverse range of attendees. "This was our first analytical service expo where we were primarily focusing on marine sediments" says Malk "The event was very well attended and our stand provided an excellent opportunity to meet new people and make contact with professionals who weren’t as familiar with our expertise in the field."

Marco and Malk have more than 50 years’ combined experience. Marco has more than 25 years’ experience across a complex portfolio of sediment analysis. He has key expertise in the Chemicals Investigation Programme and the Water Framework Directive, priority pollutants, chemical agents trace analysis, explosives, oil and gas exploration and oil fingerprinting. He has provided marine analytics for several major programmes including the marine EIA for the wreck of RFA Darkdale in St Helena, Belfast Harbour redevelopment and Dublin Harbour expansion. Malk has more than 27 years’ experience working in toxicology analysis, solid phase extraction distribution and sales, chemical and reagents sales, mass spectrometry instrument sales, and laboratory marketing and business development.
