RPS welcomes Simon Urquhart as Acoustics & Air Quality Director

With over 20 years’ experience in in the acoustics, noise and vibration sector, Simon joins us from Wardell Armstrong where he also headed up their Acoustics & Air Quality team. Based in our Newcastle office, Simon will be leading our existing Acoustics and Air Quality teams located across the UK including Brighton, Manchester and London. He will be supported by Kathryn Barker, Associate, our Air Quality technical lead.

Simon’s experience stretches from infrastructure projects including the early works at London Euston Station, to renewable developments such as battery energy storage sites and solar farms, as well as residential, industrial, commercial, education and minerals schemes.

He is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics and a Fellow of ‘Forum for the Built Environment’ and has worked on numerous planning appeals and Expert Witness at public inquiries.
