RPS takes Soldier On pledge
11 November 2019 | 2 min read
At 11 am, many of us will take a moment to remember those who have served during times of conflict.
Remembrance Day is a time to acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice made by many that came before us. It’s also an important reminder that global conflicts continue today, and that the women and men of our armed forces are still making sacrifices for security, peace and stability.
In Australia, RPS works extensively with Defence agencies on infrastructure and capability projects that help our forces protect our nation, collaborate with international partners and participate in vital peace-keeping efforts.
Many of our own people began their careers as service personnel and we are passionate about supporting all members of the defence community – both current and former - to lead happy, healthy and successful lives. That’s why this Remembrance Day, RPS is proud to formalise our partnership with Soldier On by taking the Soldier On Pledge.
Soldier On is a not-for-profit organisation devoted to connecting the community with the experiences of modern-day veterans and facilitating better physical and mental health outcomes for service personnel and their families.
By taking the Pledge, we’re joining a community of organisations committed to providing greater access to job opportunities for veterans, while at the same time tapping into the immense pool of talent that exists within the ex-service community.
“Ending your time in the military can be really challenging. It’s a time of intense readjustment and many people struggle with issues around mental health and wellbeing,” said Ross Thompson, RPS Chief Executive for Australia Asia Pacific – himself an ex-serviceman.
“I’m really proud to work alongside so many brilliant people who have taken the skills they developed in the Army, Navy or Air Force and are using that expertise to shape projects and initiatives that benefit our Australian clients and communities.”
“There’s always room at RPS for talented, passionate people. Taking the Soldier On Pledge is a great opportunity for us to connect with candidates who can help us grow our business while we support them to build successful post-service careers.”
