RPS sees strong start to 2021 with key Planning appointments
07 January 2021 | 2 min read
Despite the turbulence of 2020, our UK Planning division is expanding to optimise our delivery and assist our clients in a post-Brexit, post-Covid market.
“As part of our new direction, we are thrilled to be welcoming in 2021 with a number of significant new hires in our UK Planning business,” explains Paul Willmott, Managing Director - Planning. “We are expanding into new sectors whilst strengthening our capabilities in strategic land, commercial development, urban design and transport planning.”
Paul, who joined us in May 2020, explained that he was drawn to RPS for our environmental credentials and the full range of environmental and sustainability services we offer to clients; strengthened by expertise around Net Zero Carbon, Biodiversity Net Gain and renewable energy projects.
Paul adds: “RPS is committed to developing a market-leading team that can support clients by solving the problems that matter; environmental protection and responding to climate change. In the aftermath of the pandemic, health and wellbeing will be increasing factors in the development process, for which we are already well prepared.”
We would therefore like to wish a warm welcome to all of our new starters, including:
- Ian Dimbylow, Director – Transport Planning, London
- Adam Pyrke, Director – Planning, London
- Anna Murray, Senior Planner, London
- Jonathan Stewart, Associate Director - Urban Design, Oxford
- Damian Barry, Director – Planning, Cardiff
In addition, congratulations to Sophia Thorpe who (having also joined us in 2020 as another strategic hire) has been appointed as Residential Lead for our National Planning and Infrastructure team; enhancing our residential offering to new and existing clients through her client-side experience in strategic residential and mixed-use land promotions through the Local Plan process.
This is an exciting time for our Planning team and a great start to the new year; but it is just the beginning. Take a look at our current job opportunities, covering all grades within our Planning business.
