RPS-led consortium wins three-year METRONET contract

Systems integration of METRONET projects

METRONET is billed as the single largest investment in public transport in Perth’s history, providing around 72 kilometres of new passenger rail and 23 new stations.

RPS’ Project Director, Kevin Guppy says the initial three-year contract will cover the systems integration of METRONET projects.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this contract with Arcadis, Agonis and DDR Consult. As a team, we will partner with WA’s Public Transport Authority to help integrate METRONET’s finished projects into Perth’s operating rail network.

“We have extensive experience working on this significant rail infrastructure program and we are well placed to navigate the complexities of incorporating each finished project into the current operating system.”

The RPS-led team will include project and program managers, engineers, designers, technicians and integration specialists. Kevin says all four organisations have personnel with direct input into METRONET planning and delivery and understand the complex drivers and issues associated with rail infrastructure delivery.

“The scale of the integration has not been seen in this state. Our team understands the complexity from new rollingstock to ticketing and signalling systems. Collectively, we’ve worked on some of the largest transport infrastructure projects in Australia and will draw on our extensive local resources as well as our national capabilities and systems.”

The team will begin work immediately on the integration project to help the Public Transport Authority develop an Integrated Service Delivery Model that will underpin the integration works.
