London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) is proposing to develop a world-class, sustainable, next generation entertainment resort known as the ‘London Resort’, on the banks of the River Thames.
The project is one of the most ambitious theme park projects in Europe and will include two theme parks, an estimated 50 rides and attractions, several hotels, retail and dining and Europe's largest indoor waterpark. It is the first “Business or Commercial Project” to be classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and will aim to attract an average of 40,000 visitors per day, creating around 33,000 jobs.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges for project delivery and social distancing restrictions meant a traditional consultation event for the Resort was off the cards.
Helping our client to remove barriers and connect with their audience virtually, RPS has created a consultation space that simulates the public consultation experience.
The virtual consultation will ensure local residents, businesses and the wider community can have their say; enabling them to access proposals, interact with visualisations, share their comments and dive into detail - all in their own time and in the comfort of their own home.
Launched last week, the public consultation is important step to towards the final submission of the masterplan. Take a look!
Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, Chief Executive Officer of London Resort Company Holdings said “This is a significant step in transforming an amazing and ambitious dream into reality.”
If approved, construction is planned to start in 2022, with the first theme park ‘gate’ set to open in 2024 and the second by 2029.
We’re thrilled to have been able to make complex easy for our client and ensure the smooth delivery of the public consultation for this Nationally Significant project.
