RPS in Sunday Times Recruiter Forum

In the recent Sunday Times Recruiter Forum (10th February 2008), RPS Energy Geohazards Interpreter Julie Gale is profiled in an article about the challenges facing women returning to professional work after career breaks.
Returning to work after a ten-year break to look after two children, Julie lacked recent professional technical experience in her field and faced the challenge of returning at a lower technical level. She says "RPS has always been a very flexible company, and it was willing to listen to my suggestions about how I might develop."
RPS Energy Technical Director Karen Dalton commented: "I recently returned to work after having my first baby. I already had flexible working – I worked from home, but there was never an issue with whether I could continue to have flexibility or that RPS wouldn’t listen to suggestions I had about making things work in my new situation."
Newly appointed Head of Human Resources at RPS Planning & Development, Vanessa Hughes said: "We are mindful of the need continually to support our people –whether they are making a lifestyle choice to relocate, work in other parts of the world, return to work after a career break, or simply seeking a better work-life balance."
